Do you fancy giving something back to the sport you love ? Want to sit in the best seat to see badminton ? Then why not become an Umpire ?
The Umpires Association is running an Initial Training Course to recruit potential new umpires. The course is being held on Sunday 28th November at the National Badminton Centre, Milton Keynes, starting at 9.30am. The cost of the course is £30 person; the course involves some written theory work covering the laws of badminton, announcements and procedures, followed by some on-court practical work. Should you be successful in passing the course and then join the Association, this is the first rung on the ladder which could take you all the way to the top of the game ! The course is being run by Malcolm Banham, who is Chair of Badminton World Federation Umpire Assessment Panel (and they don't come more experienced than that !)
